In this release, we introduce the first report about market opportunities. The main question of this report is: among the tasks offered to you, which ones are you taking and which ones are you missing out on.
BeLazy’s general reporting philosophy revolves around the following concepts:
- While visualization on the fly is great, we cannot prepare for every aspect you want to analyse your data from. Therefore we always allow CSV export of the full dataset that the reports are based on. This also allows you to connect the data to other data in a business intelligence tool such as Tableau or PowerBI.
- A translation company often gets information that is not comparable. For example, you cannot easily put a word count to a proofreading task of half an hour, but how many words you can translate in half an hour is also different from how many words you can proofread in half an hour. BeLazy’s reporting logic automatically normalizes your data to make it easier to analyse it and visualize it: it unifies the different naming for workflows into a manageable number of categories, it converts time, lines, pages into words per workflow type, it converts prices into euro and US dollar. You can see how we normalized the data in the CSV export, as both the original and the normalized units, workflows and amounts are visible.
- All reports must be actionable. Seeing what you are missing and what you are taking, and what are the characteristics of the projects you are not taking, you can refine your auto-approval rules, and get more work using the market opportunities report.
Reporting is a separate database with normalized, timestamped data, and therefore there may be a lag of up to fifteen minutes between what is happening in the live environment and what you see in the reports.
