When the Last 5% of BMS Automation Becomes the Hardest Part

BeLazy already has sophisticated control over commercial business management systems such as Plunet, XTRF Classic and Smart projects and Protemos. But sometimes due to client requirements or other circumstances, we can do 95% of the job, and the last 5% remains a human task – error-prone, time-sensitive, automatable but hard to automate. You may have heard about Plunet’s complicated SOAP API. You may realize that in XTRF there is no one size fits all API, classic and smart projects are managed differently, sometimes even with macros. You see that API calls require sophisticated error handling. Well, BMS APIs aren’t the easiest APIs in the world!

A Unified API Layer to Simplify Complex Translation BMS Integrations

We know this, and we bring you simplification and developer experience. If we cannot prepare the BeLazy configuration and user interface to support all the edge case scenarios your customers and project managers require, why not give a shortcut to the BMS APIs in a simple and unified manner? With the newly introduced BMS APIs you can use BeLazy’s own API to be a bridge to, a wrapper over the BMS system APIs. Big news: Plunet even gets a REST API thanks to BeLazy. This release brings some simple functionality: providing you more BMS-specific information about the jobs, including the job links, the job target language (job listing in projects was already there, together with job status), and the job deadline, and a unified way to update the BMS deadline of any job, even if your customer did not set it up correctly for you.

We are not stopping here – milestone 2 will bring more capabilities, manipulating among other things custom fields, instruction fields, linguist assignments and price lines.
